Targeted Assessment
Our assessment process begins as a broad assessment of all skill domains which a child uses in their daily life. This process is conducted via parent interviews and clinical observations with your child. From here, the therapist may identifiy more specific assessment activities which would be of benefit for your child. This allows the therapist to gain a deeper understanding of areas where your child may be experiencing difficulties.
Flexibility to suit your child
During the assessment process, the therapist will modify assessment activities to utilise each child's strengths, and support them to engage in the assessment to the best of their ability.
Focused on function
Our assessment process is focused around a child's abilities to perform in their daily activities. The assessment will identify skill areas where a child may be experiencing difficulty or may not be reaching the expected developmental milestones. However, the therapist will collaborate with each family to identify which difficulties are having an impact on the child's daily life, and will focus supports on improving functionality in the selected activities.
